In 2015, I started saggar firing, and after extensive research, I stuck with what worked and stopped experimenting. But there's still a lot to discover, so it's time to pick it up again.

I've made a few jars that I'll use to explore new things, or at least things I've never done before.

This could be anything: a different type or color of clay, a different color of terra sigillata, or different oxides or combustibles.

It won't be a systematic study, but rather adding or changing something to see what happens.

Nr 01*

Clay and color: fine grog, white, withterra sigillata.

Test: use of a soda solution.

Method: Soda dissolved in water. Soak the rope in the solution. 

Other pieces of rope with cobalt, manganese and iron.

Resul: nice red in one place.

Nr 02*

Clay and color: fine grog, white, withterra sigillata.

Test: using rope as resist

Method: rope with knots around the piece 

Then coconut fiber with cobalt and iron.

Result: In most places there is still colour, but in some places there color is lighter.
